• Do not use or store the caIncorder aud
accessories in tire lollnwing locations.
Anywhere extremely hot or cold. Never leave
them exposed to temperatures above 60 °C
(140 °F), such as under direct sunlight, near
heaters or in a cal"parked in the sun. They
may malflmction or become def_>rmed.
Near strong magnetic fields or mechanical

or dust gets in your camcnrder, it may

Near windnws or outdoors, where tire LCD
screen, the viewfinder, or the lens )nay be
exposed to direct sunlight. This damages tire
inside of the viewfinder or the LCD screen.
Anywhere very humid.
• Operate your camcorder on DC 7.2 V (battery
pack) nr DC 8.4 V (AC Adaptor).
• For DC or AC operation, use the accessories
recommended in these operating instructions.
• Do not let your camcorder get wet, lot example,
from rain or sea water. If your camcnrder gets
wet, it may malfunction. Sometimes this
malffmction cannot be repaired.
• If any solid object or liquid gets inside tire
casing, unplug ynur camcnrder and have ix
checked by a Sony dealer before operating it
any further.
• Avnid rough handling, disassembling,
mndifying, physical shock, or impact such as
hammering, drnpping or stepping on the
product. Be particularly carelul of tire lens.
• Do not use a deformed or damaged battery pack.
• Keep tire POWER switch setting to OFF (CHG)
wheu you are not using your camcorder.
• Do not wrap your camcorder with a towel, lot
example, and nperate ix. Doing sn might cause
heat to build zip inside.
• Wheu disconnecting the power cord (mains
lead), pull it by the plug and not the cnrd.
• Do not damage tire power cord (mains lead)
such as by placing anything heavy on it.
• Keep metal contacts clean.
• Keep the Remote Commander and button=type
battery out of children's reach. If tire battery is
accidentally swallowed, cnnsult a doctor
immediately.
• If the battery electrnlytic liquid has leaked,
cnnsult your local authorized Sony service
facility.

• Perindically turn on the camcorder and play a
cassette for about 3 minutes.
• Use up the battery pack completely befnre
storing it.
Moisture condensation
If your camcorder is brought directly from a
cold place to a warm place, moisture may
condense inside your camcorder, on the
surface of the tape, or on the lens. In this
state, the tape may stick to the head drum
and he damaged or your camcorder may not
operate correctly. If there is moisture inside
your camcorder, [Moisture condensation.
Eject the cassette] or [Moisture
condensation. Turn off for IH.] appears.
The indicator will not appear when the
moisture condenses on the lens.
@ If moisture condensation hasoccurred
None of the functions except cassette
ejection will work. Eject the cassette, turn
off your camcorder, and leave it for about
one hour with the cassette lid open. Your
camcorder can be used again when both of
the following conditions are met:
• The warning message dnes not appear when the
power is turned on.
• Neither [] nor A flashes when a cassette is
inserted and the viden operation buttons are
pressed.
