Connecting a Monitor If your monitor has a detached cable, connect it to the back of the monitor first. Then, if you have a VGA monitor, connect the other end of the cable to the VGA monitor port on the computer’s back panel. -

Connecting a Parallel Printer Connect one end of the parallel cable to your printer, as described in your printer manual. Connect the other end to your computer’s parallel port and tighten the retaining screws. Then connect the printer’s power cord to the printer (if necessary) and to an electrical outlet. -
