SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS

TO ADJUST BRAKE (See Fig. 27}
Your tractor is equipped with an adjustable brake system
which ismounted on thesldeOfthe transaxieo
tf tractor requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance
at high speed in highest gear, then brake must be adjusted
Depress clutch/brake pedaf and engage parking broke
Measure distance between
brake operating arm and
nut "A" on brake rod,
if distance is other than I-3t4", foosen jam nut and turn
nut "A" until distancebecomes
1-3/4"o Rettghten jam
nut against nut "A".

Road test tractor for proper stopping distance as stated
above,
Readjust if necessary.
If stopping distance ts
still greater than six (6) feet in highest gear, further
maintenance
is necessary.

TO REPLACE MOTION DRIVE BELT
(See Fig. 28)
Park the tractor on level surface.
Engage parking brake,
For assistance,
there ts a bait Installation
guide decat on
bottom side of taft footrest.
Remove mower (See "TO REMOVE
MOWER" in this
section of this manual )
Remove upper belt keeper,
Remove belt from stationary
idler and clutching
idler°
Pull belt slack toward rear of tractor. Carefully
remove
bait upwards from transmission
input pulley and over
sooting fan btedeso
Pult belt toward front of tractor and remove downward
from around engine pulley.
lnstaII new belt by reversing above procedure.
IMPORTANT:
MAKE SURE UPPER BELT KEEPER
IS
POSIT_ONED PROPERLY BETWEEN
LOCATOR TABS.
