CUSTOMER
RESPONSIBILITIES
V-BELTS
Check V-belts for deterioration and wearafter 100 hours of
operation and replace if necessary The bette are not
adjustable Replace belts if they begJnto slip from wear
TRANSAXLE COOLING
The fan and cooling fine of transmission should be kept
ctean to assure proper ceoflng.
Do not attempt to clean fan or transmission while engine Is
running or while the transmission

inspect cooling fins for dirt, grass clippings and other
materials
To prevent damage
to seals, do not use

air or high pressure sprayer
to clean

The transaxle was sealed at the factory and fluid mainte-
nance is not required for the J lfe of the transaxle
Should the
transaxle ever leak or require servicing, contact your near-
est authorized service center/department

Only use high quality detergent

Change the ell after the first two hours of operation and
every 25 hours thereafter
or at least once a year if the
tractor is net used for 25 hours in one year.
Cheek the crankcase
oit level before starling the engine
and after each eight (8) hours of operation
Tighlen oil fin
cap/dipstick
securely each time you check the oi! Ievef.
TO CHANGE ENGINE OIL (See Figs. 15 and !6)
Determine temperature range expected before oi! change,
All oil must meet AP! service classification
SF or SG.

Remove oil flitcap/dlpstick.

Remove drain plug,

After otl has drained completely,
reptace oil drain plug
and tighten securely,
Reltl! engine with oil through otl fill dipstick tube. Pour
slow|y. Do not overfill

Air screen must be kept free of dirt and chaff to prevent
enginedamage fromoverheating,, Clean witha wire brush
or compressedair to remove dirt and stubborn dried gum
fibers,

Service air cleaner more often under dusty conditions
Remove knob(s) and cover.
TO SERVICE PRE-CLEANER
Slide foam pro*cleaner off cartridge.

Wash tt in liquid detergent
and water

Squeeze it dry in a clean cloth,
Saturate it in engine o_l, Wrap it in clean, absorbent
cloth and squeeze to remove excess ott.
if very dirty or damaged,
replace pro-cleaner.
Reinstall pro-cleaner
over cartridge.
Reinstall cover and secure with knob(s),
TO SERVICE CARTRIDGE
Remove wing nuts and cartridge plate.
Carefully remove cartridge to prevent debris from en-
tering carburetor,
Ciean cartridge by lapping gently on flat surface. If very
dirty or damaged,
replace cartridge.,
Reinstall cartridge plate, wing nuts, precleaner, cover
and secure with knob(s)
