SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS

TO REPLACE
MOWER
DRIVE
BELT
MOWER DRIVE BELT REMOVAL (See Fig 25)
•
Park tractor on a level surface+ Engage parking brake
Disengage
attachment
c+utch control
•
Remove four screws from LH
mandret cover and
remove
cover.
•
Roif beft over the top of L H. mandrel pu}ley+
•
Remove beft from engine pulley
•
Remove belt from idler pulleys
•
Remove any dirt or grass c{ippings which may have
accumulated
around mandrels and entire upper deck
surface.
•
Check primary Idler arm and two idlers to see that they
rolate freely.
MOWER DRIVE BELT INSTALLATION
(See Fig 25)
•
Install belt in both Idlers
Make sure belt is in both belt
keepers at the idlers as shown,
•
install new belt onto engine pulley
•
Roll belt Into upper groove of L, H, mandrel puftey
•
Carefut+y check belt routing making sure belt ts in the
grooves correclty and inside bett keepers
Reassemble
L+H. mandrel cover

Park the tractor on level surface
Engage parking brake+
,
Remove mowerdrive belt (Bee"TO REPLACE MOWER
DRIVE BELT" in this section of this manual)
,
Remove mower (See'TO
REMOVE MOWER" in this
section of this manual)
•
Remove four screws from R H+ mandrel cover and
remove cover+
•
Disconnect
secondary
clutch rod from pivot rod by
removing retainer spring,,
•
Carefully
roll belt off R.H. mandrel pulley,
,,
Remove belt from center mandrel puIley, Idler pulley,
and L.H mandrel pulley,
•
Remove any dirt or grass whtch may have accumu+
lated aroundmandrets
and entire upper deck surface.
•
Cheek secondary
idler arm and idler to see that they
rotate freely
•
Be sure spring is hooked in secondary
idler arm and
sway-bar bracket.
•
Install new be_t in lower groove of L H. mandrel pulley,
idler pu+tey, and center mandrel pulley as shown
•
Roll belt over R H+ mandrel pulley
Make sure belt is in
all grooves properly.
•
Reconnect
secondary
clutch rod to pivot rod with
retainer spring
•
Reinstall R H+ mandret cover:

Reinstall mower to tractor (bee "INSTALL
MOWER
AND DRIVE BELT" in the Assembly
section of this
manual).
•
Reassemble mower drive belt (See '%0 REPLACE
MOWER DRIVE BELT" in this section of INs manual)
