Read,understandand followall the instructionsand warnings o n
the machineand in this manualbeforeoperating.
Thespark plug wirewas disconnected for safety.Attachthe spark
plug wireto the spark plug beforestarting.See Figure7.

outdoorsin a well-ventilated area.

Set thethrottleto the fast_position.
2.
Set thechoketo the FULLi'_"1 position.
3.
Graspthe recoilstarterhandleand pull the rope outslowly,until
it pullsslightlyharder.Letthe rope rewindslowly.See Figure8.
NOTE:The bladecontrol bail doesnot needto be engagedto start
the engine.
4.
Pull the recoilstarterhandlerapidly.Donot allowthe handleto
snapback.Allowit to rewindslowlywhilekeepinga firm hold
on the handle.
5.
As the enginewarmsup and beginsto operateevenly,slidethe
chokeleverslowlyto the 1/2 chokeposition.Whentheengine

beginsto run smoothly,movethe choketo the OFF _ _posi-
tion. If theenginefails, returnto FULLI_1 choke then slowly

moveto 1/2 chokethen the OFF_ _position.

Releasegrip on bladecontrol bail to stop blades.
2.
Set thethrottleto the STOPpositionto turn off theengine.
3.
Set theheightadjustmentleverto the 1-setting.
NOTE: If the bladesbecomestuckwhenbeing returnedto the
1-setting, g ently pushdownon the handleto prop the machineon
the back two wheelswhilethe leveris raised.
Muffler,engineand surrounding areas becomehot and cancause
a burn.Be carefuland do nottouch whenthey_ are hot.
