    PREPARATION FOR USE Unpacking And Set-up 1.) Remove the unit from the carton and remove all packing materials from the unit. Important: Make sure that you remove the AC Power Cord from the carton. 2.) Remove any descriptive labels that may be on the top of the cabinet. Do not remove any labels from the bottom of the cabinet.

    POWER SOURCES This system can be operated on 6 “C” batteries or on normal 120V 60Hz AC house current. Attempting to operate this system on any other power source may cause damage to the unit and such damage is not covered by your warranty. Battery Operation 1.) Close the lid and place the unit up-side down on a flat surface.
  • Page 7 AC Operation 1.) Unwind the AC power cord and extend it to its full length. 2.) Insert the smaller end of the cord into the AC socket on the side of the cabinet. 3.) Insert the plug into any convenient 120V 60Hz AC outlet. Note: In order to operate this unit on batteries the AC cord must be disconnected from the unit.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Important Information: This system can only be operated with the lid in the open position. If you close the lid while the radio or a CD is playing the power shuts ‘ Off’ automatically. LISTENING TO THE RADIO 1.) Press the OPEN button and raise the lid.

    PLAYING COMPACT DISCS Normal Playback 1.) Press the OPEN button and raise the lid. 2.) Press the POWER button to turn the system ‘ On’ . 3.) Press the CD button to select the CD function. 4.) Press the CD door on the OPEN/CLOSE marking to open the door. 5.) Place a disc on the center spindle with the printed label side facing up.
  • Page 11 Pause Control To Pause temporarily during playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button. The sound stops and the track display flashes but the disc continues to spin. Press PLAY/PAUSE once more to cancel Pause mode and resume normal playback.   • Page 12 Repeat Playback You can automatically repeat the entire disc or a single track. To repeat the entire disc: Load the disc in the player and wait until the display shows REPEAT the total tracks. Press the P. MODE button once. The REPEAT indicator will appear in the display.

    PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK This CD player has a 19 track programmable memory system that allows you to program up to 19 tracks on any CD. You can select only the tracks that you want to hear and have them play in any order you want to hear them. The same track can be programmed to play several times if desired.
  • Page 14 Program Repeat Playback You can also use the Program and Repeat features together to repeat an entire programmed sequence of tracks indefinitely. First program the tracks you wish to hear in the desired order as described above. Then press the REPEAT button once so that the REPEAT REPEAT indicator appears in the display.

    CARE AND MAINTENANCE COMPACT DISC CARE • To remove a disc from its storage case, press down on the center of the case and lift the disc out, holding it carefully by the edges. • Treat the disc carefully. Handle the disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny, unprinted side of the disc.
