    PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY Do not attempt to operate this oven with the door-open since open- door operation can result in harmful exposure to microwave energy. It is important not to defeat or tamper with the safety interlocks. Do not place any object between the oven front face and the door or allow soil or cleaner residue to accumulate on sealing surfaces. Do not operate the oven if it is damaged. It is particularly important that the oven door close properly and that there is no damage to the: Door (bent), Hinges and latches (broken or loosened), Door seals and sealing surfaces. 4. The oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone except properly qualified service personnel.

    IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following: WARNING - To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, fire, and injury to persons or exposure to excessive microwave energy: 1. Read all instructions before using the appliance. 2. Read and follow the specific "PRECAUTIONS TO AVOID POSSIBLE EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY" on page 1. 3. This appliance must be grounded. Connect only to properly grounded outlet. See "grounding instructions” on page 3. 4. Install or locate this appliance only in accordance with the provided installation instructions. 5. Some products such as whole eggs and sealed containers -for example, closed glass jars- are able to explode and should not be heated in this oven.

This appliance should be serviced only by qualified service personnel contact nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment. INSTALLATION Make sure that all the packing materials are removed from the inside of the door. WARNING: Check the oven for any damage, such as misaligned or bent door, damaged door seals and sealing surface, broken or loose door hinges and latches and dents inside the cavity or on the door. If there is any damage, do not operate the oven and contact qualified service personnel. This microwave oven must be placed on a flat, stable surface to hold its weight and the heaviest food likely to be cooked in the oven. Do not place the oven where heat, moisture, or high humidity are generated, or near combustible materials.

    RADIO OR TV INTERFERENCE Operation of the microwave oven can cause interference to your radio, TV, or similar equipment. When there is interference, it may be reduced or eliminated by taking the following measures: Clean door and sealing surface of the oven. Reorient the receiving antenna of radio or television. Relocate the microwave oven with respect to the receiver. Move the microwave oven away from the receiver. Plug the microwave oven into a different outlet so that microwave oven and receiver are on different branch circuits. UTENSILS GUIDE This section lists which utensils can be used in the microwave, which ones have limited use for short periods, and which ones should not be used in the microwave. Recommended ·Microwave browning dish — Use to brown the exterior of small items such as steaks, chops, or pancakes. Follow the directions provided with your browning dish. · M icrowaveable plastic wrap — Use to retain steam. Leave a small opening for some steam to escape and avoid placing it directly on the food. ·Paper towels and napkins — Use for short-term heating and covering; These absorb excess moisture and prevent spattering. Do not use recycled paper towels, which may contain metal and could ignite. ·Glass and glass-ceramic bowls and dishes — Use for heating or cooking. ·Paper plates and cups — Use for short-term heating at low temperatures. Do not use recycled paper, which may contain metal and could ignite.

    COOKING TECHNIQUES Your microwave makes cooking easier than conventional cooking, provided you keep these considerations in mind: Stirring Stir foods such as casseroles and vegetables while cooking to distribute heat evenly. Food at the outside of the dish absorbs more energy and heats more quickly, so stir from the outside to the center. The oven will turn off when you open the door to stir your food. Arrangement Arrange unevenly shaped foods, such as chicken pieces or chops, with the thicker, meatier parts toward the outside of the turntable where they receive more microwave energy. To prevent overcooking, place delicate areas, such as asparagus tips, toward the center of the turntable.

    CLEANING AND CARE 1. When cleaning surfaces of door and oven that comes together on closing the door, use only mild, nonabrasive soups, or detergents applied with a sponge or soft cloth. 2. Turn off the oven and remove the power plug from the wall socket before cleaning. 3. Keep the inside of the oven clean. When food splatters or spilled liquids adhere to oven walls, wipe with a damp cloth. Mild detergent may be used if the oven gets very dirty. Avoid the use of spray and other harsh cleaners as they may stain, streak or dull the door surface. 4. The outside surfaces should be cleaned with a damp cloth. To prevent damage to the operating parts inside the oven, water should not be allowed to seep into the ventilation openings. 5. Wipe the window on both sides with a damp cloth to remove any spills or spatters. 6. Do not allow the control panel to become wet. Clean with a soft, damp cloth. When cleaning the control panel, leave oven door open to prevent oven from accidentally turning on.

    OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS BEEPS DURING OVEN SETTINGS ONE BEEP: Oven accepts the entry. TWO BEEPS: Oven does not accept the entry, check and try again. SETTING THE CLOCK 1. Touch CLOCK pad. 2. Use the number pads to enter the correct time. You must touch at least three numbers to set the clock (one for hour and two for minutes). 3. Touch CLOCK pad again. NOTE: This is a 12 hour clock. When the oven is first plugged in or when power resumes after a power interruption, the display will show ENTER CLOCK TIME, if you prefer to not have the clock displayed, touch RESET pad. You can check the clock time while cooking is in progress by touching the CLOCK pad.
  • Page 10 Some recipes require different stages of cooking at different temperatures. 1. SET STAGE 1: Follow steps 1 and 2 in “One-stage Cooking”. DO NOT TOUCH START�STOP PAD. 2. SET STAGE 2: Touch COOK pad then enter proper cooking time and (lower) power level. (Most 2- stage recipes use lower power for second stage.) 3. Touch START�STOP pad. NOTE: After total time has elapsed, 4 beeps sound and END appears in display. Touch RESET pad or open oven door to clear END before starting another cooking function. SETTING “SPEED DEFROST” 1. Touch SPEED DEFROST pad. 2. Enter desired defrosting time by touching correct number pads. Digital timer sets minutes and seconds from left to right so a single digit can be set (5 for 5 seconds) or up to 4 digits (2405 for 24 minutes 5 seconds). 3. Touch START�STOP pad. NOTE: ·After time has elapsed four beeps sound and END appears in display. Touch RESET pad or open door to clear END before starting another cooking function. ·After setting SPEED DEFROST, oven can be programmed to automatically switch to one or two-Stage cooking. A. For speed defrost and one stage cooking, follow steps above. Before touching START�STOP pad, touch COOK pad, and enter time and power level. Then touch START�STOP pad. B. For speed defrost and two stage cooking, follow steps above. Before touching START�STOP pad, enter two-stage cooking programs. SETTING “COOK BY WEIGHT” 1. Touch COOK BY WEIGHT pad. 2. Enter the one-digit code by touching the correct number pad.

  • Page 12 ABOUT “ QUICK COOK ” SETTINGS “QUICK COOK” allow you to cook or reheat food automatically without entering power level or time. When setting “quick cook”, check visual guide on pad for correct setting. Three “quick cook” settings allow you to cook several amounts of the same food. These include the “FROZEN DINNER”, “BAKED POTATO” and “BEVERAGE”. After you touch these pads, ENTER AMT appears in the display. In each “quick cook” category, touching pad once sets smaller size food. Touching the picture pad twice can set the large size. SETTING “POPCORN” 1. Touch POPCORN pad.

    13. Los utensilios de cocina pueden calentarse debido al calor que se traslada desde los alimentos calientes. Se recomienda usar manoplas para manipular los utensilios. 14. No cubra ni obstruya las aberturas del electrodoméstico. 15. No guarde ni utilice el aparato al aire libre. No utilice ningún tipo de electrodoméstico para calentar o cocinar que se encuentre por debajo de este aparato. 20. Asegúrese de que la bandeja de vidrio y el aro giratorio estén en su lugar a la hora de usar el horno. 21. Solo el personal técnico calificado debe de llevar a cabo cualquier tipo de reparación.

    INTERFERENCIA DE FRECUENCIA RADIAL O DE TV El funcionamiento del horno puede generar interferencia en un radio, televisor o equipos similares. Si hubiera interferencia, se puede tomar las siguientes medidas para reducirla o eliminarla: Limpie la puerta y la superficie hermética del horno. Reoriente la antena receptora del radio o televisor. Reubique el horno a microondas con respecto al equipo receptor. Aleje el horno del equipo receptor. Enchufe el horno a un tomacorriente distinto de tal manera que el horno y el equipo receptor queden conectados a diferentes circuitos. GUÍA DE UTENSILIOS Esta sección detalla que utensilios pueden usarse con el horno a microondas, que utensilios son de uso limitado y para períodos cortos, y que utensilios no deben usarse con este horno.

    - Platos y vasos de espuma de estireno - Este material se puede derretir y dejar residuos insalubres sobre los alimentos. - Envases y recipientes de plástico - Estos envases, por ejemplo los de margarina, pueden derretirse en el microondas. - Utensilios de metal - Éstos pueden dañar su horno. Retire todo tipo de metal antes de proceder a cocinar. Nota: Si se necesitará verificar si un plato es adecuado para el uso en microondas, coloque el plato vacío dentro del horno y encienda el microondas a temperatura alta (HIGH) durante 30 segundos. Si el plato se calienta demasiado quiere decir que no debe ser usado. TÉCNICAS DE COCCIÓN Cocinar en el microondas puede resultar ser más fácil que cocinar de manera convencional siempre y cuando tenga en cuenta las siguientes técnicas: Remover Remueva las comidas como guisos y verduras durante al cocción para distribuir el calor de manera pareja. La comida que se encuentra en la parte exterior del plato absorbe más energía y se calienta más rápido, así que remueva desde afuera hacia el centro. El horno se apagará cuando abra la puerta para sacar la comida y removerla.

    ANTES DE LLAMAR AL SERVICIO TÉCNICO Si el horno presentara algún desperfecto: A) Verifique que el horno se encuentre debidamente enchufado. Si no es así, retire el enchufe del tomacorriente, espere 10 segundos y enchúfelo de nuevo correctamente. B) Revise si hay algún fusible quemado o algún circuito principal dañado. Si éstos se encuentran funcionando bien, pruebe el tomacorriente con otro electrodoméstico.

BOTONES DE COCCION RAPIDA Funciones programadas para cocinar comidas populares POTENCIA Utilice para programar el nivel de potencia. TEMPORIZADOR Puede usarse esta función de manera independiente, aún durante el proceso de cocción en el horno. COCCIÓN Cocción a un nivel de potencia durante un tiempo determinado. Luego el horno pasa de manera automática a otro nivel de potencia para el resto del proceso de cocción. COCCIÓN AL PESO Pulse para ingresar el peso de la carne de manera precisa. DESCONGELADO AL PESO Pulse para ingresar el peso de los alimentos a ser descongelados. DESCONGELADO RÁPIDO Pulse para programar el descongelado rápido.     INSTRUCCIONES DE FUNCIONAMIENTO SONIDOS “BEEP” DURANTE LA PROGRAMACIÓN DEL HORNO. UN SONIDO: El horno ha aceptado lo ingresado. DOS SONIDOS: El horno no ha aceptado lo ingresado. Verifique e intente de nuevo. PONIENDO EL RELOJ A LA HORA 1. Pulse el botón CLOCK (reloj). 2. Utilice el teclado numérico para ingresar la hora correcta. Debe de pulsarse por lo menos tres números para poner la hora (uno para la hora y dos para los minutos) 3. Pulse el botón CLOCK (reloj) de nuevo. NOTA: Este reloj es de 12 horas. Cuando se enchufa el horno o cuando vuelve la electricidad después de alguna interrupción, la pantalla mostrará: “ENTER CLOCK TIME” (ingrese hora del reloj). Si no desea contar con la hora en pantalla, pulse el botón RESET (reiniciar).
  • Page 22 B. Cocción en dos etapas Algunas recetas de cocina requieren de varias etapas de cocción a temperaturas distintas. PROGRAMACIÓN DE LA ETAPA 1: Siga los pasos 1 y 2 de la sección “Cocción en una sola etapa”. NO PULSE EL BOTÓN START (comenzar) PROGRAMACIÓN DE LA ETAPA 2: Pulse el botón COOK (cocinar). Luego ingrese el tiempo de cocción necesario y el nivel de cocción más bajo. (La mayoría de recetas en dos etapas requieren de un nivel de potencia más bajo para la segunda etapa). Pulse el botón START�STOP. NOTA: Una vez transcurrido el tiempo total, se producirán cuatro sonidos “beep” y aparecerá la palabra END (fin) en la pantalla. Pulse el botón RESET (reiniciar) o abra la puerta del horno para borrar la palabra END antes de comenzar con otra función de cocción. PROGRAMACIÓN DEL DESCONGELADO RÁPIDO 1. Pulse el botón SPPED DEFROST (descongelado rápido). 2. Ingrese el tiempo deseado para el descongelado pulsando el teclado numérico. El temporizador digital programa los minutos y segundos de izquierda a derecha, así que se puede ingresar un solo dígito (un 5 para 5 segundos) o se puede ingresar hasta cuatro dígitos (2405 para 24 minutos y 5 segundos).

PROGRAMACIÓN DEL DESCONGELADO AL PESO Pulse el botón DEFROST BY WEIGHT (descongelado al peso).
  • Page 24 PROGRAMAS DE COCCIÓN RÁPIDA La función de COCCIÓN RÁPIDA le permite cocer o recalentar los alimentos sin tener que ingresar el nivel de potencia ni el tiempo. Al momento de usar la función de “cocción rápida”, verifique la pantalla como ayuda visual para seleccionar la opción correcta. Existen tres opciones de “cocción rápida” que le permiten cocinar diferentes cantidades del mismo tipo de alimento. Estas opciones son “COMIDA CONGELADA”, “PAPA AL HORNO” Y “BEBIDA”. Después de pulsar estos botones, aparecerá en la pantalla ENTER AMT (ingrese cantidad). En cada categoría de “cocción rápida”, una sola pulsación sirve para programar la cocción de alimentos de menor tamaño. Dos pulsaciones sirven para aquellos alimentos de mayor tamaño. OPCIÓN PALOMITAS DE MAIZ (PORPCORN) Pulse el botón POPCORN. Aparecerá en la pantalla el CÓDIGO y el tiempo de cocción. Esta función automáticamente programa el tiempo de cocción para una bolsa de palomitas de 3 1�2 onzas.
