Phenomena that may be easy to be mistaken for machine defects (continued)
Phenomenon
Pictures appear
dark.
Pictures appear
blurry.
No signal is
output from the
MONITOR OUT
and AUDIO
OUT ports.
Some kind
of image
degradation
such as
flickering or
stripes appear
on the screen.
NOTE
• Although bright spots or dark spots may appear on the screen, this
is a unique characteristic of liquid crystal displays, and it does not constitute or
imply a machine defect.
Cases not involving a machine defect
The brightness and/or contrast are adjusted to an
extremely low level.
Adjust the BRIGHTNESS and/or CONTRAST settings to a
higher level using the menu function.
The ECO MODE function is working.
Select the BRIGHT for the ECO MODE item in the SETUP
menu.
The lamp is approaching the end of its product
lifetime.
Replace the lamp.
Either the focus and/or horizontal phase settings are
not properly adjusted.
Adjust the focus using the focus ring, and/or the H PHASE
using the menu function.
The lens is dirty or misty.
Clean the lens referring to the section "Caring for the lens".
The SAVING function is working in the standby state.
Select the NORMAL for the STANDBY MODE item in the
SETUP menu.
When the projector is operating in Eco mode,
flickering may appear on screen.
Set ECO MODE to BRIGHT, and set AUTO ECO MODE to
OFF, in the SETUP menu.
The OVER SCAN ratio is too big.
Adjust OVER SCAN in the IMAGE menu smaller.
Excessive VIDEO NR.
Change the setting of VIDEO NR in the INPUT menu.
The FRAME LOCK function cannot work on the
current input signal.
Set FRAME LOCK in the INPUT menu to OFF.
