This broadcast is a wide
screen picture format.
This type of picture fills
the entire TV screen.
14:9
The true 14:9 format is the
medium between the 4:3
and 16:9 ratio signals.
4:3
The 4:3 broadcast signal
gives black bars to the
sides of the screen which
is consistent with screen
compression.
C16:9L
This broadcast signal is
letterbox with black bars
at the top and bottom of
the screen.
C14:9L
This broadcast signal is
letterbox with black bars
at the top and bottom of
the screen, and also to
the sides.
