CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS
3. SPEAKER OUTPUT CONNECTORS
Provide audio output for the speakers. Output connectors can accept bare speaker wires
or most spade connectors. When using bare speaker wires, loosen the connector, insert
the wire into the top of the receptacle, and tighten the connector. The same procedure
should be used for spade connectors.
4. REMOTE TRIGGER INPUT
Enables the Model 7.250 to be controlled by an external device with a 3.3V DC
minimum to 24V DC maximum trigger output. Connect the trigger output of the external
device to the TRIGGER INPUT of the Model 7.250 power amplifier. The Model 7.250
will automatically respond when the external device is powered on and off. When the
controlling device is turned on, the amplifier will turn on after a delay. This delay is
intentional and serves to protect the speakers while the unit stabilizes. During start-up,
you may hear relay clicking. This is normal operation.
5. DIMMER SWITCH (SEE FRONT PANEL DESCRIPTION)
6. MASTER POWER SWITCH/CIRCUIT BREAKER
Connects and disconnects power from the AC Input Connector to the Amplifier Power
Supply. When this switch is on, the amplifier is in Standby Mode (See Front Panel
Description). When it is off, the front panel Power Button will not function. Set this
switch to off when making or breaking connections to the amplifier. The Master Power
Switch also serves as a breaker.
To power on the Model 7.250, press the rear panel Master Power Switch. When powered
on, the amplifier is in Standby Mode. There will be a delay from the time the power is
turned on until the power is applied to the speakers. This is normal operation and protects
the speakers from potential damage while the unit stabilizes. You may hear a relay click
during start-up, which is also normal operation.
The Master Power Switch on the Model 7.250 power amplifier is also a heavy-duty
magnetic circuit breaker. If power to the amplifier is interrupted, inspect the Master
Power Switch on the rear of the unit. If the Master Power Switch is in the OFF position
you can reset it to the ON position to restore AC power. If the Master Power Switch
immediately trips to the OFF position, unplug the amplifier from the AC power source
and contact Cary Audio Design Customer Service.
Note: The class 2 wiring label is required for any unit in which the audio output power
exceeds 10W per channel under normal operating conditions or if the unit is intended to
be installed or connected by a skilled person.
When the Model 7.250 Master Power Switch is switched off or there is a power
outage, the state of the unit remains the same when power is restored. If in standby
mode when the power is removed, it will remain in standby mode when power is
restored. If the unit is in active mode (blue display is lit) and power is removed, it
