    All HP Compaq Linux thin clients ship with the Altiris manageability agent in the Linux image. This agent allows for asset detection, as well as provides the ability to capture and deploy HP Compaq Linux thin cli- ent images. In addition, HP has made available a softpaq that allows you to perform the following func- tions using the Altiris Deployment Console: •...

  • Page 3: Obtaining And Installing The Softpaq

    To obtain the softpaq, visit www.hp.com and navigate to the product support page for the specific prod- uct. Search and download the softpaq titled, “Altiris manageability scripts for HP Compaq Linux thin cli- ents.” To install the softpaq: Unbundle the softpaq on a system that contains Altiris. The softpaq attempts to install its contents in directories known to the Altiris deployment console.

    HP TC Capture Settings - Captures the client system settings and defined HP Connection Adminis- trator connection settings from source HP Compaq Linux thin client to the Altiris server for storage. You must modify this job before first use to input the Altiris server IP address, Altiris user name, and Altiris user password (see Figure 3).
