Connecting the coaxial cable

1. Plug the power cord into an electric outlet (Figure 3). The display panel lights, and the time
display begins flashing.
2. Press and hold either Time
CAUTION: Bose recommends using a quality surge suppressor on all electronic equipment.
Voltage variations and spikes can damage electronic components in any system. A quality
suppressor, which can eliminate the vast majority of failures attributed to surges, may be
purchased at electronic stores.
1. Plug the FM antenna into the FM 75Ω EXTERNAL connector on the back of the radio
(Figure 4).
2. For best FM tuning performance, straighten the antenna and extend the arms as far away
from the radio as possible. Avoid placing the antenna next to a metal surface. See the
recommended antenna orientation in Figure 4.
FM 75Ω EXTERNAL connector
If you subscribe to cable radio or have a connection for an outdoor antenna, you can use the
coaxial cable to connect to the radio.
1. Plug the coaxial cable into the FM 75Ω EXTERNAL connector on the back of the radio
(Figure 4).
2. Connect the other end of the coaxial cable to the outlet in your wall.
CAUTION: Be certain that the installation includes a signal splitter so that only the FM band,
and not the cable TV band, is transmitted to the radio. It is necessary to use a splitter that
filters the signal to prevent any re-emissions of the TV spectrum through the radio.
