Why is the service light illuminated on my GE Security Command Center panel?

The service light on the GE Interlogix NX-8 Security NetworX System panel is illuminated for one of the following reasons:

1. Expander Trouble – If enabled, the system reports expander trouble to the central station and illuminates the service LED on the keypad. Keypads are considered expanders.
2. Fail to Communicate – If a report fails to reach the central station, the service LED is illuminated. If enabled, a Fail to Communicate code will be reported when the next report is successfully sent.

These conditions indicate a system issue that may require troubleshooting or maintenance.
