Section 11: Settings
This section explains how to configure your phone's language,
network preferences, security options, and other settings.
Location
Use the Location setting to specify whether your phone passes
your Global Positioning System (GPS) location to the network
continually, or only when you make an emergency (911) call.
Note: Check with your Wireless Carrier to determine if/when/where location-
based services are available.
From a Home screen, press Menu, then select Settings
Location, then choose Location On or 911 Only.
Display Settings
Display Settings let you change your phone's Home screen
Wallpaper, Banner text, and Main Display and Keypad Backlight
times.
From a Home screen, press Menu, then select Settings
Display Settings. The following options and sub-menus
are available:
• Wallpaper: Choose an image from the My Images/Preset Images
folder to appear as background in the display while in Standby
mode.

• Banner: Create your own personalized greeting to appear in the
display while your phone is in Standby mode.
• Backlight: Set options for the Main Display, Keypad, and Charging
backlight times and for backlight Brightness.
Sounds Settings
Sounds Settings let you customize your phone's audio
properties, such as ring tones, keypad tones, alerts, start up
melody, and more.
From a Home screen, press Menu, then select Settings
Sounds Settings.The following options and sub-menus
are available:
• Master Volume: Set the default volume for all sounds produced by
your phone.
• Ringer Type: Set the default Voice Calls ringtone and the Text,
Picture, and Voicemail message ringtones.
• Alerts: Enable/disable playback of your phone's Enable/disable
Minute Beep, Roaming, Call Connect, and Power On and Power Off
notifications.
• Key Tone: Adjust the volume and length of tones generated when
you press keys.
