This function is used to display 4:3 pictures that have wide black
bars at the top and bottom of the picture.
The picture is enlarged, the black bars disappear from the screen.

4/3 picture

displayed on-screen
This function is used to display conventional 4:3 pictures so they fill
the entire screen. The sides of the picture are stretched and the loss
of picture at the top and bottom of the screen is minimised.

4/3 picture
16 : 9 displayed on-screen
This setting is used to display a picture broadcast in a 16:9 format in
the correct proportions.
N.B. : if you are viewing a 4/3 picture, the picture will be enlarged
horizontally.

16/9 picture
Subtitles
When using 14 : 9, , and - modes, the picture is enlarged,
therefore some information may be lost from the top or bottom of
the picture.
The
keys can be used to view the bottom of the picture to
restore important information e. g. subtitles.

The x symbol appears, the bottom of the picture gradually moves
upwards.

The y symbol appears, the bottom of the picture gradually moves
downwards.
This function is not available in 4 : 3 and 16 : 9 modes.
