7 Installing the Software Onto a Computer

• Installing the Software

For Windows® Users:
IMPORTANT!
• Please backup all the necessary data before any driver and software
installation.
• The CD-ROM is tested and recommended to use under English Windows OS.
• Please restart the computer after installing the software.
IMPORTANT! (For Windows® 98SE)
Windows® 98SE needs to install the x530 Camera Driver for Mass Storage
function. After the installation, please restart the Windows before connecting the
camera to the PC.
IMPORTANT! (For Windows® Me, 2000, XP)
Directly plug-in the camera to transfer and play the pictures and video clips. No
need to install the driver.
IMPORTANT!
• It is only necessary to install the Card Reader Driver for Windows 98SE only.
For Windows Me, 2000, XP, it is not necessary to install the driver, the
operating system will automatically recognize the Card Reader.
• For Windows Me, 2000, XP user, installing the Card Reader Driver in the
Windows Me, 2000, XP may cause the Card Reader mis-function. Please
uninstall the Card Reader Driver and restart the computer to solve this
problem. For more detail about uninstall the Card Reader Driver, please read
"Uninstalling Card Reader Driver (PC Only)" on page 86.
