More Information
What are MTP and MSC modes?
• MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode
is essential if you want to transfer
DRM content to your player. In MTP
mode your player will no longer show
up as a drive letter. So programs that
were designed to work with a device
that shows up as a drive letter will not
be able to work directly with the
player.
• MSC (Mass Storage Class) mode –
device is in this mode when connected
to Windows 2000, 98ME and 98SE
operating systems. XP users must
change the device manually to MSC
mode, see "Settings" for details. In
this mode, the device will show up as
a drive letter on your PC and behaves
as a detachable drive for file transfer
in one or both directions.
The player does not work after
reformat.
• In case you need to reformat the
player, it must be in FAT or FAT32
format. The player does not work in
NTFS format.
What does the PlaysForSure logo
mean?
• PlaysForSure is a new logo program
from Microsoft®. Consumers can
match the PlaysForSure logo on a
large selection of devices and online
music stores. If you see the logo, you'll
know your digital media will play for
sure. For more information on the
Microsoft PlaysForSure program, visit
