To gather inventory on the host machine

In the Symantec Management Console, on the Home menu, click Virtual
Machine Management.

In the left pane, click Actions > Getting Started and in the Getting Started
window, click Run Inventory Task.

On the inventory task page, select the Host Type and the credentials of the
host machine.

Under Task Status, specify a schedule for the task.

Click Save changes.
To manually create a Virtual Machine Management Inventory task
1
In the Symantec Management Console page, on the Manage menu, click Jobs
and Tasks.

In the left pane, under Jobs and Tasks, click Virtual Machine Management.

Right-click the Inventory folder and click New > Task.

In the tasks list, click Inventory.

On the inventory task page, give the task a name.

Select the Host Type and the credentials of the host machine, and click OK.

On the inventory task page, under Task Status, specify a schedule for the
