Now that the Web server is running, you can add your own documents, adjust the con-
figuration according to your needs, or add functionality by installing modules.
27.2 Configuring Apache
Apache in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server can be configured in two different ways: with
YaST or manually. Manual configuration offers a higher level of detail, but lacks the
convenience of the YaST GUI.
IMPORTANT: Configuration Changes
Changes to most configuration values for Apache only take effect after Apache
is restarted or reloaded. This happens automatically when using YaST and fin-
ishing the configuration with Enabled checked for the HTTP Service. Manual
restart is described in

Configuring Apache manually involves editing the plain text configuration files as the
user root.
