This function takes the following parameters:
value
alg
Returns
This function returns one of the following values:
The encoded (hashed) value.

if the value is encoded.

The value that needs to be encoded.
The encoding algorithm. The following algorithms are supported in a a
default Directory Server installation:
• CRYPT
• CLEAR
• SSHA
• SHA
If you pass NULL for the alg parameter, the scheme used is determined by
the setting of the server's passwordStorageScheme value within the server
configuration entry (cn=config). If no value is present, SSHA is the default.
if an error occurs, for example, if no matching algorithm is found.
