Chapter 2. Directory Server Attribute Reference

2.360. uniqueIdentifier

This attribute identifies a specific item used to distinguish between two entries when a distinguished
name has been reused. This attribute is intended to detect any instance of a reference to a
distinguished name that has been deleted. This attribute is assigned by the server.

The uniqueMember attribute identifies a group of names associated with an entry where each name
was given a uniqueIdentifier to ensure its uniqueness. A value for the uniqueMember attribute
is a DN followed by the uniqueIdentifier.
