Installing the Common Vent System CAUTION with PVC or CPVC venting materials Common Venting requires a Non-Return Valve on each water heater exhaust connector. Use only the NRV specified in this manual. NRV(Non-Return Valve) Each heater must be setup for Cascade Operating Mode. Refer to The NRV prevents backflow (back-draft) at the exhaust sections 4.9.2 Electrical and 4.9.3 Cascade Programming.
Maintenance 3. Reinstall the cap and cover, and then fix them with a set screw. Periodically check the damper condition inside the NRV through the maintenance port to ensure optimal performance of the system. Follow the instructions to check the damper condition and replace the NRV if necessary.
