    Installation NOTES Connecting to computer Make sure you have a personal computer with an open USB port before connecting the drive to your computer. Power for all device should be turn off before attaching the cables. Connect the drive to the computer as shown in figure.

    Playing a music CD Listening to sound When connected to a computer, you can play audio CD’s through your computer’s audio system after setting Digital Audio mode. Check your Windows or “Windows Media Player” manual for detail. Playing DVD video and MPEG2 movie video The drive must be connected to a computer, and basic installation already done.

    IC505(APW1172) :2.5A SWITCH STEP DOWN SWITCHING REGULATOR 1. General Description The APW1172 is a step down monolithic power switching regulator with a switching current limit of 3.8A so it is able to deliver more than 2.5A DC current to the load depending on the application conditions. The output voltage can be set from 1.235V to 22V.The high current level is also achieved utilize an SO8 package with exposed pad frame.

    1-2. ALPC (Automatic Laser Power Control) Circuit ALPC function DVD/CD anlaog front-end IC(IC101 R2S35004) is for constant power control purpose. Based on the accurate power sensor(FMON) in P/U, ALPC feedback loop maintains constant power level against laser diode’s temperature variation. The ALPC loop amplifies(10x) the FMON signal to enhance the accuracy of read power level control.

Tracking Error(TE) Signal is generated from tracking error detected block in R2S35004 using DPP(Differential Push-Pull) Method and DPD (Differential Phase Detection) Method. DPP Method uses not only main beam(A, B, C, D) but also side beam(EF1~EF4) for correcting DC offset generated in Push-Pull Method.
