• The advantage of using
layers is the ability to

that pertains to the layer
you are working on.
• You can hide or lock
layers so that you do not
accidentally make
changes or get distracted
by elements of other
layers.

When working with Layers, any new object created in the publication
will be placed onto the layer selected in the Layers palette.

To show or hide the Layers palette:
From the main menu, choose Window > Show Layers
