3 Select the Mission Statement button, and in the Properties palette, link the button to
Mission Statement > Back.
4 Now click the Mission Statement tab in the Menu Editor window to open the Mission
Statement menu.
5 Select the Back button, and in the Properties palette, link the button to Security Update
> Message.
6 Save the project.

Linking buttons to timelines

You will link the buttons in the Message menu to timelines. First, you'll import the video
files.
1 Click in the Project window to make it active. Choose File > Import as Asset. In the
Import as Asset dialog box, navigate to the Lesson 04 folder. Press the Ctrl key as you
select the Cardkey.avi, Exits.avi, and Intro.avi files. Click Open.
2 In the Project window, select the Cardkey.avi, Exits.avi, and Intro.avi files, and choose
Timeline > New Timeline.
The three video assets are placed in timelines, and the Monitor window opens.
3 Click the Message tab in the Menu Editor window, and then select the Introduction
button.
4 In the Properties palette, choose Intro > Chapter 1 from the Link pop-up menu.
5 Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the Cardkey button and the Emergency Exit button, linking
the buttons to their respective timelines.
6 Save the project.

Creating a text layer

You can create a menu that contains a message. For this project, you'll add text to the
Mission Statement menu.
1 Click the Mission Statement tab in the Menu Editor window.
