  • Page 4: Tuning Channels

    The TV set tunes forty numbers and it is possible to put any channel on any number. There are two ways to choose the channel number you want-the single-number method and the double-number method. Single-digit Method (highest Program Number is 9) This allows numbers 0 ~ 9 ONLY and is useful for limiting the number of channels if you do not mind some channels on the wrong number (10 and 28 could be put on 1 and 0, for instance).
  • Page 5 VHF-1 lllllllll------- When the set finds a TV signal, it will stop searching automatically, and show the TV picture on the screen. The tuning is optimised for strong signals. Weak signals may need fine tuning for the best result. If you want another channel, press the SEARCH button again. The station may be fine-tuned with the FT (-/+) buttons for the best picture and sound if the auto-search result is not satisfactory.

  • Page 8 TELETEXT- a short technical description This TV set displays Teletext information which includes stock market reports, TAB betting, weather forecasts, and other useful material. In Australia, the Teletext service is sent by the Seven Network, although other channels send subtitles for the hearing impaired with programs marked by (S) in the TV guides. The guides are not always correct! To get the full Austext service, the set must be tuned to the Channel 7 Network.
  • Page 9 Colour Memory - The set is fitted with a four-page memory to speed up operation and make it more convenient to use. If you are interested in Stock Market Reports or TAB betting, then the four most used pages would be set on these four colour-coded buttons and be instantly available.
  • Page 10 USING TELETEXT FOR THE FIRST TIME Using Teletext for the first time can be a bad experience. Follow these hints and tips to gain confidence. If something unexpected happens, read these tips first. It is very unlikely that the set is faulty, Your answer may be here. The most important button on the Remote Control is Button (14) (the blank screen symbol).

  • Page 13 BUTTON LIST The trick is to push the buttons slowly; it takes a moment to register. Be careful that the button does not lock down. Some buttons behave differently in TV and Teletext. The following list is grouped according to TV or Teletext. If the description of a button is missing in one list, it will be found in the other.

    CONNECTION DIAGRAMS 1. VIDEO PLAYBACK/RECORD This is the usual connection where Audio/Video is taken out of the VCR and is connected IN to the TV set. The material being played on the VCR can be viewed on the TV screen by pressing the AV Button (13).
  • Page 19 3. DUBBING The figure below shows how to connect TWO VCRs to the TV for dubbing one from the other. Press AV button on the remote control unit to select AV mode before dubbing, "AV" will be displayed on the screen. The TV set will act as a monitor to help you edit while dubbing. NOTE: The set MUST remain in AV mode and MUST NOT be switched off during the session.

    CONNECTING EXTERNAL SPEAKERS You can connect speakers to the EXTERNAL SPEAKER terminals on the TV set to enhance sound from the TV.
