WARNING: This is an unvented gas-fired heater. It uses air (oxygen) from the room in
which it is installed. Provisions for adequate combustion and ventilation air must be
provided. Refer to Air for Combustion and Ventilation section on page 4 of this manual.
This appliance may be installed in an aftermarket* manufactured (mobile) home, where not prohibited by
state or local codes.

This appliance is only for use with the type of gas indicated on the rating plate.
This appliance is not convertible for use with other gases.

INSTALLATION NOTICE: This heater is intended for use as supplemental heat. Use this heater along with your pri- mary heating system. Do not in- stall this heater as your primary heat source. INSTALLATION Continued MANTEL CLEARANCES If you meet minimum clearance between mantel shelf and top of fireplace opening, a hood is not required (see Figure 6). If minimum clearances in Figure 6 are not met, you must have a hood. When using a hood there are still certain minimum mantel clearances required. -

Locate masonary screws in hardware package. Position heater base assembly in fireplace. CGD3924PR, CGB3924PR and CGB3930PR Mark screw locations through holes in mounting flanges (see Figure 11). If in- stalling in a brick-bottom fireplace, mark screw locations in mortar joint of bricks. -

INSTALLATION Continued CAUTION: Use only new, black iron or steel pipe. Inter- nally-tinned copper tubing may be used in certain areas. Check your local codes. Use pipe of 1/2" diameter or greater to allow proper gas volume to heater. If pipe is too small, undue loss of pressure will occur. -
