01 INTRODUCTION 01.01 Introduction This manual is intended to serve as a guide and contains, in addition to technical description of the machine, all the information (instructions, technical diagrams, drawings, photo) useful for transport, installation, assembly / disassembly, commissioning, service, operation, maintenance and cleaning your SUNFLOWER HEADER. The operator / operators has / have the duty and responsibility of know and apply it.
Be sure that operators and maintenance personnel are trained and informed about the contents of the manual · before putting the machine into operation or execution of maintenance. A copy of this manual must be situated in an accessible place, always available for consultation. Keep this manual ·...
01.03 Safety requirements No accident prevention program can be successfull without a complete cooperation of the people who are directly responsible for the use of the machine. Most accidents can be avoided by compliance with certain simple safety measures. It is established that the "best security system" is the operator careful fulfillment of rules on prevention to maintain the machine.
01.03.2 General requirements Most accidents can be avoided by observing some elemental standards of safety: If you need to install or remove some parts of the machine, use only lifting and transport machines according to the · weight and characteristics of the machine you need to move. Lifting points of hook are indicated by specific decals on SUNFLOWER HEADER, as illustrated here.

03.03 Workstation The machine does not have a fixed work station and is connected to a operating machine. 03.04 Machine Identification The model and serial number are printed on the plate located on the left side of the frame, in the area shown in the figures.
04 SAFETY MEASURES APPLIED TO THE MACHINE 04.01 Mechanical protection The machine must always be used with mechanical protection mounted and safety equipment in perfect working conditions. The security guards applied to the machine are: 1. Mechanical protection fixed to the left side transmission group ref. 01 Figure 03.01. 2.
04.02 Safety Decals The symbols on the decals must be carefully respected by whoever is preparing to operate on the machine. Failures to respect the given indications exonerate the manufacturer from injury or damage that might result to persons or property , and makes the operator himself solely responsible to the authorities.

Decal Description Danger! Do not stand between the tractor and the machine: It warns that we should not stand near the machine and keep at least a distance of 03 meters. Caution! Risk of falling: It warns that you should not stand up on the neader in order to avoid from falling.

Decal Description Type of oil: It is placed next to the gear box / blade arm. It prescribes to use gear oil SAE90 - ISO220 for topping up. Lubricate: Keep the chains lubricated. Grease: Placed next to reel’s bearing. It prescribes to grease periodically by the special grease gun. Setting in motion of the machine: In order to avoid damages, you must start the header with the gear engaged and the engine at minimum power.
04.04 Safety Rules Most of accidents with farm machinery can be prevented with few simple safety rules. The header should set in motion only by qualified operators who know the operations and harvesting techniques. Before to use the header make sure that all safety guards are in place and properly secured with screws. Always move away the children from the header.
05 TRANSPORT AND INSTALLATION 05.01 Trasport For the shipment the machine does not require any special packaging. The loading and unloading systems on trucks (suitable for transportation) of the header must sunflowers be performed through the use of a bridge crane, or equivalent means, with the aid of special steel ropes. The machine must be engaged in the holes marked dall'apposita decal.
The truck for transport must be appropriate in size and weight capacity. It must be equipped with lifting cranes required to eventually lift the header. The lifting operation must be performed by specialized and authorized people and it should be performed with the maximum care to avoid damages to both people and things.
To remove the header from the combine, proceed as follows: 1. Place the header on the trailer support (not supplied with the header). 2. Disconnect the PTO shaft. 3. Remove the retaining clips as shown in the use and maintenance manual of the combine . 4.
06 OPERATION 06.01Preliminary operations Before starting the work some steps must be checked: The mechanical protections are in place as indicated in paragraph "1.3 Mechanical protection". That the connection of the sunflower header has been performed as described in 2.4 Coupling and uncoupling SUNFLOWERS HEADER. We also remeber to the operator that before starting to work he must: 1.
06.02 Sunflower header working principles The transmission of motion to the sunflower header takes place through cardan joint which connects the combine to the header. The header can only work if the harvesting mechanism is in motion. Once set up of the combine is made, you can proceed to harvest, sunflowers get channeled between dividers until they reach the cutting blade;...
07 MAINTENANCE 07.01 Preliminary operations Maintenance operations described in this chapter should be performed by a qualified and authorized technician (the term "technician" means person authorized by the manufacturer to perform maintenance of the machine). Strict observance of the maintenance operations and precautions as described in this chapter will provide a longer life and better performance by reducing to a minimum the possible inconveniences and related repairs.
07.02 Safety rules to obeserve during maintenance work Follow the safety rules: Before to make any ordinary maintenance operation or registration on the header it is import to follow these rules: Disengage all the combine’s commands. Lower the header to the ground or keep it raised on combine blocking the combines’jack in safety position.

07.04 Extraordinary Maintenance Extraordinary maintenance works must done only by: Technicians from the producer. · Technicians or people who received an official approval from the · producer. To guarantee the respect of safety works conditions please ask for the help of some qualified technician . Extraordinary maintenance includes all the technical works not included on the ordinary maintenance.

08 LONG INACTIVITY OF THE MACHINE SUNSTORM SFH is a strong type of machine but to keep it in a pefect work condition you must perform the following steps at the end of the harvesting season, or when the machine is not used for a long period, in order to keep it ready for the next season.
