    1.3. DESCRIPTION OF DEVICE OPERATION The Ecoperla Vita water softener uses an ion exchange resin to remove calcium (Ca2+) and magnesium (Mg2+) ions, which cause water hardness. The device removes hardness from water totally or partially. Calcium ions Ca2+ and magnesium ions Mg2+ are removed when water flows through the ion exchange resin in the water softener tank.

    6. OPERATION 6.1. WATER SOFTENER OPERATION The water softening system requires adding salt tablets to the brine tank. Salt demand depends on total hardness of raw water and average water consumption. The system requires regular, periodic regeneration. Regeneration takes place automatically. This process requires appropriate volume of water and salt for rinsing and brining the medium.
