Phantom Infrared Receivers
860, 860P
CFL friendly
The SaphIR 860 Phantom and 860P Phantom are
miniature infrared receivers with a low-profile
design for discreet installation almost anywhere.
With the 860 available in black or white and the
860P available in black or silver, the surface-mount
Phantoms blend unobtrusively with most media
cabinets and other surroundings for convenient
placement.
Typically used for controlling components hidden
in a media cabinet or located in another room, the
Phantom accepts commands from a wide variety
of IR remote controls and relays them to the equip-
ment through a connecting block and IR emitters.
A blue talkback LED provides immediate confirma-
tion upon receiving an IR signal.
Both models feature wideband infrared sensitivity,
wide-angle reception, extended pickup range and
CFL and plasma friendly
excellent rejection of noise from IR sources like
compact fluorescent lights. A built-in automatic
gain control circuit significantly reduces interfer-
ence problems for reliable performance.
The SaphIR 860P has an additional optical filter
that virtually eliminates interference from plasma
TV displays, sunlight, and other sources of IR
noise. This model's improved filtering makes it
ideal for use in home theater applications where
plasma or LCD TVs are used.
Each Phantom model employs Russound's own
microcontroller-based IR filtering circuit to block
interference and allow seamless control of audio-
video components.
