through the slit, and then pull the thread to cut it.

• Make sure that the thread is correctly
inserted through the tension-adjusting spring
of the bobbin case. If it is not inserted, re-
insert the thread.

3 Reattach the bobbin cover. Put the left tab in
place (see arrow 1), and then press lightly on
the right side (see arrow 2) until the cover
clicks into place.

draw up the bobbin thread before you start
to sew, follow the procedure in "Drawing up
the Lower Thread" (page 36).
