Slammo
XL is perfect for younger players or anyone new to the game! With an enlarged net and a larger 6" ball, Slammo XL helps you lock
®
down the basics and gets you slamming like the pros in no time! Gather your friends and let the competition begin!
Game Setup:
Slammo
®
is an active 2-on-2 game that borrows many rules from volleyball. However unlike volleyball, there is no court or assigned
positions for Slammo. Once your Slammo Roundnet is assembled (see reverse side for instructions), find a wide open space and place
your Slammo in the center. The game is best played on grass or sand, so diving is permitted, but can also be played on hardcourts.
Teams start opposite each other for the serve (see diagram), but once the ball is in play, players are free to move around the net. There
is no "out of bounds" during play, so watch out for Slammo spikes that send the ball into the next neighborhood!
Playing the Game:
Serving:
To serve, stand several feet from the net and hit the ball down into the net to the opposing team. Serves must be returnable,
so no slamming is permitted on serves. Play Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine which team serves first.
Volleying:
Once the ball is served, the receiving team must return the ball to the net in 3 hits or less. Teammates must alternate hits,
but they are not required to make all 3 hits.
Scoring:
Points can only be scored by the serving team. A team scores when the opposing team is unable to return the ball to the net
in 3 hits or less. If the non-serving team wins the turn, it is a sideout (which means the non-serving team wins the next serve).
Alternate Scoring:
If you're looking to play faster games, you can adjust the rules so points are scored at the end of each rally,
regardless of which team served the ball.
Group Play:
For more fun, add players to each team for 3-on-3 or 4-on-4 action! All other rules remain the same.
Winning:
The first team to 21 points wins. The winning team must win by 2 points.

Rules:
Hitting The Ball:
Like in volleyball, the Slammo ball can be hit, slapped, slammed or spiked but never held, palmed, double hit or thrown.
Double Bouncing:
For a shot to score, the ball must clear the net on its 2nd bounce. (2nd bounce on the net is a sideout).
Player Interference:
Players are allowed to move freely around the net, but when one team is volleying, the other team must make
an effort to get out of the way. Accidental contact results in a do-over.
Pipe Hits:
If a ball hits the pipe perimeter around the net, it is a sideout.
