Thank you for purchasing the AprilAire® Model 65 Humidifier Control. Your control allows
you to set the RH (Relative Humidity) level for your home and will control your humidifier to
maintain the setting. The control also displays the RH.
The RH setting you choose will depend on your comfort level and the amount of moisture
your home can tolerate without causing condensation to form on windows or other
surfaces. As outdoor temperature drops, condensation is more likely to occur on cold
surfaces such as windows, and so the RH set point will need to be adjusted accordingly.
The control comes with a label you can apply to the front that will serve as a reminder
and a guideline for adjusting the RH setting as outdoor temperature varies. The
recommended settings, also shown in TABLE 1, are based on years of research and apply
to the average home.
If you have other devices that measure and display RH, they may not match the display
on the Model 65 control due to differences in calibration or the location of the devices.
The Model 65 control allows you to apply an offset to the display so that it will match
another device. Whether the actual RH is 32% or 36% does not matter as long as you are
comfortable.

Since all houses are different, you will need to determine exactly where to set the control so that you have enough humidity to meet your needs, but DISPLAY not so much as to cause excess condensation on windows or other cold surfaces.
