How to make coffee
Burn Hazard.
w WARNING
To avoid hot coffee overflowing from the filter basket:
• When using decaffeinated coffee, do not exceed the
coffee manufacturer's recommended serving amount.
• Press firmly on lid to ensure the lid is completely closed.
If filter basket overflow occurs, unplug coffeemaker and allow
coffee in filter basket to cool before removing filter basket.
1. Wash unit before first use. See "Care and cleaning."
2. Press H to set current hour with AM or PM. Press M to set
current minutes.
3. Place OPTIONAL water filter and water filter base into water
reservoir (see "Optional accessories").
4. Lift lid. Fill carafe with the desired amount of cold water, and
pour into water reservoir. Place carafe with carafe lid
attached on keep-hot plate. Move swivel showerhead into a
position over the water reservoir. Place disposable paper filter
in filter basket. Use a #4 cone-style paper filter. Fold filter at
the crimp for proper placement. If filter not folded at crimp, it
may collapse or an overflow may occur. A permanent filter
may also be used.
5. For each cup of coffee being made, place one level
tablespoon of ground coffee into filter.
6. After adding ground coffee into filter, move swivel showerhead
back into position over filter basket. Flip lid down to close.
NOTE: If swivel showerhead is positioned over water
reservoir when lid is closed, it will automatically be swiveled
into position over filter basket when the lid is closed.
7. Press I/O (ON/OFF) button once to turn the coffeemaker on.
NOTE: To serve coffee during the brewing cycle, remove
carafe and pour a cup. By removing the carafe, the flow of
coffee from the bottom of the filter basket will stop.
WARNING! Burn Hazard. The carafe must be replaced within
20 seconds of being removed to prevent overflow.
8. Press BREW OPTIONS button until desired option is selected:
Regular, Bold, or 1-4 cups. If brewing a smaller amount of
coffee, 1–4 cups, choose 1–4 cup brewing option. If you prefer
a bolder coffee, select the BOLD option.
9. When finished, press I/O (ON/OFF) button once.
NOTE: If the coffeemaker is not turned off manually,
it will automatically shut off in 2 hours.
10. If storing coffeemaker, the cord can be pushed into a special
cord storage area in the back of the unit.
To program automatic brew:
1. Make sure clock is set for correct time of day.
2. Fill coffeemaker with desired amount of water and coffee.
Place carafe with lid on keep-hot plate.
3. While holding PROG (program) button, press H and M
buttons until desired start time is reached.
4. Once desired start time has been reached, release PROG
button and current time is displayed.
5. Press and release PROG button for less than 1 second to set
coffeemaker to come on automatically at the desired time.
6. Press PROG button again to cancel automatic brew.
How to use the water filter
(optional accessory on select models)
1. Before first use, soak water filter in cold tap water for
15 minutes. Then rinse under cold running tap water for
15 seconds.
2. Insert filter in base. Snap lid onto base. Set your
replacement month by aligning arrow with the month
you expect will represent 60 brew cycles.
3. Using the water filter lid (or handle), place filter and filter
base in water reservoir. The water filter base should fit
snuggly in a specially designed well at the bottom of the
water reservoir.
4. Replace after 60 brewing cycles. Refer to the month
indicator to know when to replace your filter.
5. To replace, pull up on lid of filter holder while holding filter
base; turn filter base to allow filter to drop out.

Care and cleaning
All coffeemakers should be cleaned at least once a month
(once a week for areas with hard water).

1. Remove water filter (optional) and water filter base (see
"How to use the water filter").
2. Make sure the filter basket is empty.
3. Place empty carafe on keep-hot plate.
4. Pour one pint of plain white vinegar into water reservoir.
5. Plug unit into electrical outlet.

tourner le diffuseur d'eau pivotant jusqu'à ce qu'il soit
au-dessus du réservoir. Mettez un filtre en papier dans
le panier-filtre. Utiliser un filtre en papier conique N° 4.
Plier le filtre le long du pli pour le placer correctement.
Si le filtre n'est pas plié le long du pli, il pourra
s'affaisser ou provoquer un débordement. On peut aussi
utiliser un filtre permanent.
5. Pour chaque tasse de café prévue, déposez 1 cuillère à
soupe rase de café moulu au fond du filtre.
6. Après avoir mis le café moulu dans le filtre, ramenez le
diffuseur d'eau pivotant en position au-dessus du
panier-filtre. Rabattez le couvercle pour le fermer.
REMARQUE : Si le diffuseur d'eau pivotant se trouve
au-dessus du réservoir lorsque le couvercle est fermé,
il pivotera automatiquement pour se placer au-dessus
du panier-filtre.
7. Appuyez une fois sur le bouton I/O (MARCHE/ARRÊT)
afin de mettre la cafetière en marche.
REMARQUE : Pour servir le café pendant le cycle
d'infusion, retirez la verseuse et versez une tasse.

9. Appuyer sur le bouton I/O (MARCHE/ARRÊT) dès
la fin du cycle.
REMARQUE : Si vous n'éteignez pas votre cafetière,
elle s'arrêtera automatiquement au bout de 2 heures.
10. Si vous désirez ranger votre cafetière électrique, le
cordon peut être remisé dans un orifice pour le

1. Assurez-vous que l'horloge est réglée à l'heure juste.
2. Versez la quantité d'eau et de café désirée dans la cafetière.
Placez la verseuse et son couvercle sur la plaque chauffante.
3. Tenir le bouton PROG (programme) et appuyer sur les
boutons H et M pour régler l'heure de mise en marche.
4. Dès que l'heure de mise en marche est atteinte,
relâcher le bouton PROG pour effectuer un retour à
l'heure actuelle.
5. Appuyer et relâcher le bouton PROG en moins d'une
seconde pour activer la mise en marche automatique à
l'heure désirée.
6. Appuyez de nouveau sur le bouton PROG pour annuler
l'infusion automatique.
Filtre à eau
(sur certains modèles)
1. Avant la première utilisation, laissez tremper pendant
15 minutes le filtre à eau dans de l'eau froide du robinet.
Rincez ensuite à l'eau courante pendant 15 secondes.
2. Insérez le filtre dans la base. Enclenchez le couvercle dans
la base. Réglez le mois de remplacement du filtre en
alignant la flèche avec le mois correspondant selon vous
