Children should always be seated safely when traveling in the vehicle. General information Volvo recommends the proper use of restraint systems for all occupants including children. Remember that, regardless of age and size, a child should always be properly restrained in a vehicle.
  • Page 87 Child seats should always be registered with the child seat manufacturer. Volvo's recommendations Why does Volvo believe that no child should sit in the front seat of a vehicle? It's quite simple really. A front airbag is a very powerful device designed, by law, to help protect an adult.
  • Page 88: Child Restraints

Volvo strongly recommends that everyone in the vehicle be properly restrained. Volvo follows NHTSA's recommendations and recommends that ALL children up to and including 12 years of age sit in the rear seat. This is strongly recommended for children in rear-facing child seats.

The certified value for the vehicle's range should not be considered an expected driving range. • Page 603: Snow Tires

Road conditions with ice, slush and low temperatures place considerably higher demands on tires than summer conditions. • Page 611: Viewing Tire Pressure Status In The Center Display

If you switch to a tire of another size than the factory-mounted tires, the system must be reset by storing a new inflation pressure for these tires to avoid false warnings. 17. Loading, storage and passenger compartment 17.1. Loading 17.1.1. Loading recommendations There are a number of things that are important to consider when carrying loads in or on the vehicle. Load-carrying capacity is determined by the vehicle's curb weight. The total weight of all passengers and any installed acces- sories reduces the vehicle's load-carrying capacity by the corresponding amount.
  • Page 633: Determining The Vehicle's Permitted Weight

Warning Always secure the load. Otherwise, it may shift during heavy braking and injure people in the vehicle. Cover sharp edges and sharp corners with something soft. Apply the parking brake when loading/unloading. Extra cargo space The rear seat backrests can be folded down to increase cargo space in the cargo compartment/trunk and simplify loading. If the rear seat backrests are folded down, make sure that no objects loaded into the vehicle prevent the WHIPS system for the front seats from functioning correctly.
