Introduction
This manual provides technical information necessary for servicing the VZ series FM Transceiver.
Servicing this equipment requires expertise in handling surface-mount chip components. Attempts by non-qualified persons
to service this equipment may result in permanent damage not covered by the warranty, and may be illegal in some countries.
One PCB layout diagrams are provided for each double-sided circuit board in the transceiver. Each side of is referred to by
the type of the majority of components installed on that side ("leaded" or "chip-only"). In most cases one side has chip
components, and the other has either a mixture of both chip and leaded components (varister, coils, electrolytic capacitors,
ICs, etc.), or leaded components only.
While we believe the technical information in this
may occur as a result of typographical or other errors
in the technical information would be appreciated.
This transceiver was assembled using Pb (lead) free solder, based on the RoHS specification.
Only lead-free solder (Alloy Composition: Sn-3.0 Ag-0.5 Cu) should be used for repairs performed on this apparatus. The solder
stated above utilizes the alloy composition required for compliance with the lead-free specification, and any solder with the
above alloy composition may be used.

    Instructions before use Manual Scope: This manual is provided to professionals who are familiar with radio communications or radio communications service with experienced technical staff to use. It contains a wireless radio repair major technical information and data.     VZ-18 Circuit Description 1. Chip Description VZ-18 circuit utilizes RDA1846S(RF part)and micro-processing (MCU)chip solution. RDA1846S Inside the Main Part of Description 1、DSP kernel including the IF converter, FM modems, RSSI calculator, APC control circuit, audio/audio synthesis filter and the CTCSS/DCS matched filter, etc. 2、The main functions of the comprehensive device: the main component that: (1) A vibration signal, generated by the comprehensive device is used to convert the RF input to a continuous low intermediate frequency.

    2.2 Transmitter The audio signal from the microphone a simple RC filter, the audio signal enters into the RDA1846S. And signal modulation on the carrier, with the carrier modulation signal after Q203, Q202 buffer, push again by Q201 amplification to the antenna terminal. 2.3 Antenna Switch and LPF The RF signal passes through a low-pass filter network and a transmit/receive switch circuit before it reaches the antenna terminal.

    2.5 Power Supply The battery voltage passes through SW501,changes into 3.3V by LDO(U501)to microprocessor (U701) core power supply. Also the 3.3V supply to the receiver power (3VR) through Q504、the transmitter power (3VT) through Q502、the MIC audio signals power. 2.6 VOX When the state is set to work in the VOX, MIC received voice signal amplified by the amplifier Q506、Q507, sends to the half-wave rectified (D501) to output DC voltage, sends to the MCU (U701) detecting whether the open transmit conditions, if they meet the condition MCU (U701) will start emission control transmitter circuit.
