    Floor Mat Installation Use only floor mats designed specifically for vehicles of the same model and model year as your vehicle. Fix them securely in place onto the carpet. Insert the retaining hooks (clips) into the floor mat eyelets. Turn the upper knob of each retaining hook (clip) to secure the floor mats in place.

    Hybrid System Your vehicle is a hybrid vehicle. It has characteristics different from conventional vehicles. Be sure you are closely familiar with the characteristics of your vehicle, and operate it with care. The hybrid system combines the use of a gasoline engine and an electric motor (traction motor) according to driving conditions, improving fuel efficiency and reducing exhaust emissions.

    Hybrid battery (traction battery) charge If the shift lever is in N, the hybrid battery (traction battery) will not be charging, even when the engine is running. Therefore, if the vehicle is left with the shift lever in N, the hybrid bat- tery (traction battery) will discharge, and this may result in the vehicle not being able to start.

    Sounds and vibrations specific to a hybrid vehicle There may be no engine sound or vibration even though the vehicle is able to move with the “READY” indicator is illuminated. For safety, make sure to shift the shift lever to P and apply the parking brake when parked.

    Smart Access System with Push-button Start The following operations can be performed simply by carrying the electronic key (includ- ing the card key) on your person, for example in your pocket. The driver should always carry the electronic key. For details on starting the hybrid system, see page 20. Unlocking and locking the doors from the outside Grip the driver’s door handle to unlock the door.

    Power (Ignition) Switch Performing the following operations when carrying the electronic key on your person starts the hybrid system or changes power switch modes. Starting the hybrid system Check that the parking brake is set. Check that the shift lever is in P. Firmly depress the brake pedal.

    If your vehicle has to be stopped in an emergency Only in an emergency, such as if it becomes impossible to stop the vehicle in the normal way, stop the vehicle using the following procedure: Steadily step on the brake pedal with both feet and firmly depress it. Do not pump the brake pedal repeatedly as this will increase the effort required to slow the vehicle.

    EV Drive Mode In EV drive mode, electric power is supplied by the hybrid battery (traction battery), and only the electric motor (traction motor) is used to drive the vehicle. However, when the vehicle proximity notification system is active, the vehicle may pro- duce sound.

    Lexus Safety System + 2.0 The Lexus Safety System + 2.0 consists of the following drive assist systems and contrib- utes to a safe and comfortable driving experience: Driving assist system ■ PCS (Pre-Collision System) The pre-collision system uses a radar sensor and front camera to detect detectable objects* in front of the vehicle.

In constant speed control mode, the vehicle runs at a fixed speed.
