The operating manual represents a component part of the device. It contains important information regarding safety, use and disposal. Familiarize yourself with all the operating and safety information before starting to use the device. Only use the device as described and for the purpose for which it is intended. Hand over all the documents with the device if it is transferred to third parties.
Intended use
This printing calculator serves exclusively for completing arithmetical processes indoors. Any other use is considered unintended use.
Use only in suitable environments
Prevent excessive exposure to smoke, dust, vibration, chemicals, moisture, heat and direct sunlight.
Operating elements
When completing a calculation, press this key once in order to delete the value last entered. Pressing the key again deletes all the values entered, the memory content is retained. This key is also used to clear overflow errors.

Scroll Right key (moves the value displayed to the right and deletes the last digit on the right-hand side).
Paper feed
Margin / Profit (e.g. determines the profit margin by entry of the purchase and sales prices).
Save tax rate / tax calculation
Non-Add key - To print information which does not affect the calculation, e.g. date and consecutive number. Numbers are printed at the left edge.

Memory plus
Recall / Clear memory
5/4 = No rounding
CUT = Rounding down
Key for decimal places / point selector key
Switch printer on/off (PRINT)
Inserting batteries (AA R6)
Follow the steps below to insert the batteries.
→ Remove the battery cover.
→ Insert the batteries with the correct polarity.
→ Replace the battery compartment cover.
Removing batteries
Follow these steps to remove the batteries.
→ Remove the battery cover.
→ Remove the batteries.
→ Replace the battery compartment cover.
Changing the ink ribbon
When the print is faded, change the ink ribbon!

- Switch the calculator off.
- Open the top cover by pushing it back. (Fig. 1).
- Remove the old ink ribbon by pulling it up. (Fig. 2). Insert the new ink ribbon and press it carefully until it engages. IR-40 (Fig. 3).
- When the ink ribbon is positioned correctly, slide the housing cover back on and insert the leading edge of paper. (Fig. 4).
Inserting the paper roll
- Damage to the print head
→ Never actuate any keys (except the Paper Feed key) when the printer is switched on. |
- Open the top cover by pushing it back.
- Pivot the paper roll holder out.
- Cut the leading edge of the paper roll straight using a pair of scissors.
- Guide the leading edge of the paper through the opening on the rear side of the calculator and slide the leading edge in the slit in the calculator.
- Mount the paper roll on the paper roll holder.
- Press the Paper Feed key until the leading edge of the paper roll comes out of the top section of the calculator.
- Thread the leading edge of the paper through the opening in the housing cover and slide the cover back on

Error situations or exceeding capacity
If "E" appears, as described in the following three examples, no further calculations / operations are possible. Press the CE/C key and you can continue working.
- If the result of the calculation exceeds 12 decimal places, "E" appears on the screen.
- If you attempt to divide by zero, "E" appears.
- If data is entered faster than the calculation can be processed by the printer.
If problems occur during calculations, please press the RESET key in the battery compartment of the calculator. The tax rate must then be re-entered.

Care Instructions
- Switch off the unit.
- Disconnect the power plug from the power socket.
- Clean the surface of the housing with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use any solvents or cleaning agents.

- Risk of explosion!
→ Only use the power adapter plugs supplied!
→ Only use the batteries supplied or ones of an equivalent type! - Risk of suffocation through batteries!
→ Keep batteries out of reach of children.
→ Seek medical attention immediately if one is swallowed. - Risk of tripping due to improperly laid cable!
→ Lay cables so that nobody can trip over them! - There are different risks involved when dealing with batteries!
→ Never attempt to recharge standard batteries, never short circuit batteries and/or open batteries. Doing so leads to a potential risk of overheating, fire or explosion.
→ Improper handling of batteries/rechargeable batteries can endanger your health and the environment. Batteries/rechargeable batteries may contain toxic and environmentally harmful heavy metals (Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead). Therefore, hand in used batteries at a municipal collection point. Therefore, separate disposal and recycling of spent batteries is essential for the environment and health.
→ Ensure the connection terminals are not shortcircuited.
→ Never throw batteries into a fire or water.
→ Never expose batteries to any mechanical loads.
→ Leaking batteries could cause damage to the device. If a battery should start to leak, remove it from the device immediately to prevent any further damage. Take the utmost care when handling damaged or leaking batteries and always wear protective gloves.
→ Avoid any contact with the skin, eyes and mucous membranes. Rinse any parts of the body which have come into contact with battery acid with plenty of clean water and contact a doctor immediately. Avoid extreme conditions and temperatures which could affect the batteries, e.g. by placing them on radiators or exposing them to direct sunlight.
→ Only use batteries of the type specified.
→ Never use batteries of different types or new and old batteries together.
→ Ensure batteries are inserted with the correct polarity.
→ If the device will not be used for a longer period, switch the device off and remove the batteries.
→ Remove empty batteries from the device and dispose of them according to the applicable directives.
→ The batteries must be removed from the device before its disposal.
→ You are legally obliged to dispose of batteries at your dealer or at the collection points provided by the responsible waste disposal authority.
