Installing the IQ Meter Collar
IQ Meter Collar is a meter socket adapter with an integrated microgrid interconnection device (MID) and metering. It is installed on an ANSI C12 Form 2S meter
socket. IQ Meter Collar is rated for use in 200 A meter sockets. It can be installed either at the building service entrance
between an ANSI C12 Form 2S utility meter and the meter socket (see configuration 1) or on the load side of the utility service (see configuration 2A for whole home
back and configuration 2B for partial home backup).
IQ Meter Collar can be used for grid-interactive (grid-tied) as well as multi-mode (grid-forming) installations. In grid-interactive installations, the IQ Meter Collar
is used as a consumption metering device, and additional Consumption CTs are not required. In grid-forming installations, the IQ Meter Collar provides both con-
sumption metering and grid isolation to enable microgrid formation.
