The BVF self-contained breathing apparatuses are classified, in accordance with the EN 137:2006 standard, as follows: -Type 1: device for industrial use. The BVF-BU is provided on the reducer with a special hand commutation lever which enables to choose between “Normal” and “Back Up” usage. When the reducer is in the “NORMAL” configuration and the BVF-BU is used as standard breathing apparatus, the alarm activates when the alarm pressure activation of (70±5) bar. - Page 9 “BACK UP” position the alarm activates immediately when the apparatus is in use (this mode is mainly used when using the BVF-BU as a “Back Up” system in the configuration with a four-way valve –...

Page 10: Operating Principle
Note: The use of the 4-way valve is permitted for SPASCIANI respirators provided with TR 82 A, TR 82 B, TR 2002 A and TR 2002 BN masks (see configurator) and compatible demand valve. The use of other masks, exceptionally permitted in case of emergency following the C annex to EN 137:2006, should be avoid in case of use with four-way valves and feeding from the line because in that case there may be the possibility not to reach the limits necessary for the positive pressure preservation inside the mask. -

This operation, that can be performed by hands without using any tool, implies the handling of the functional components of the demand valve so it shall be executed by specialized personnel authorized by SPASCIANI. Please contact SPASCIANI SPA customer service for any information. -
Page 12: Storage And Transport
• The scheduled maintenance period has been exceeded. Maintenance can only be performed with original SPASCIANI spare parts. The operations to be carried out and the spare parts to be applied are described in the specific manual provided by SPASCIANI during the training of authorized personnel. -

* The devices are certified for use with the steel cylinders manufactured by Worthington, Eurocylinders Systems (ECS) and with the composite cylinders manufactured by CTS - Composite Technical System. The cylinders are equipped with valves manufactured by SAN-O-SUB MBB. Contact the SPASCIANI sales office for further information on purchase codes (charge/discharge cylinder, Excess Flow valve accessory). - Page 14 (i.e. connections and maximum dimensions) with regards to the cylinders and accessories. SPASCIANI SPA will not be liable for any unauthorized cylinder assembly it did not provide or for any solution not listed in this manual, nor for any assembly carried out differently than how specifically described in this manual.
