    INTRODUCTION Thank you for purchasing this Ultrasonic Nebulizer. Please read this instruction manual completely before using your unit to ensure safe and effective use, as well as long life of the product. Ultrasonic nebulizers are used to efficiently deliver medication in the form of a mist to the lungs.

    NEBULIZER MASKS/MOUTHPIECE SELECTION This unit includes five styles of masks and mouthpieces, allowing for user preference in their desired medication delivery method. Replacement parts are available for order on the enclosed order form, by calling Customer Care at 866-326-1313 or at your local medical supply dealer.

    USING YOUR NEBULIZER Before the first use of the nebulizer or if the unit has not been used for an extended period of time, it should be cleaned thoroughly as described in the Cleaning and Disinfection section of this manual. The patient receiving treatment should be in a comfortable seated or slightly reclining position as treatments take several minutes.
  • Page 12 USING YOUR NEBULIZER Insert the medication cup as shown, Fig 1. Pour the medication into the nebulizer cup following the physician prescribed dosage, Fig 2. The medication cup capacity is 7.5mL; overfilling the medication cup will reduce the nebulization rate. Note: If your medication dosage volume is 2ml or less, or if the medication is very dense, the medication should be diluted with distilled water so that the...
  • Page 13 USING YOUR NEBULIZER Attach the selected mouthpiece to the nebulizer and position the mouthpiece at the patient’s mouth. Remember that masks should cover the patient’s mouth and nose; mouthpieces should be in the mouth with the lips closed around the end of the mouthpiece, Figs 4-7. Face Mask Fig.
  • Page 14 USING YOUR NEBULIZER 10. Press the POWER button on the nebulizer. Nebulization begins at a slower rate and will become stronger. 11. To increase or decrease the nebulization rate, press the fan button until the desired level is reached. The lights on the housing will illuminate in correlation to the nebulization rate: 3 lights = highest rate, 1 light = lowest rate.

    CLEANING & DISINFECTION The nebulizer and mouthpiece should be thoroughly cleaned after each use unless a different cleaning regimen is specified by your healthcare professional; additional hygienic precautions may be required for use with high-risk patients. Never attempt a subsequent medication treatment without first cleaning your unit and mouthpiece.
  • Page 16 CLEANING & DISINFECTION Disinfecting Procedures: It is recommended that the parts be disinfected monthly if the unit is used on a regular medication therapy schedule. Remove the clear lid from the nebulizer body. Rinse the mouthpiece, fan, medicine cup and air filter cover in hot water. Mix one part white vinegar with three parts distilled water, in a volume sufficient to fully immerse the pieces.

    WARNINGS & CAUTIONS Nebulizer therapy is intended for use with physician prescribed medication only. Over the counter medication, essential/aromatherapy oils or alcohol are not suitable for inhaling using a nebulizer. Highly viscous substances may damage the unit and make it unsuitable for use.

El paciente que reciba el tratamiento debe estar sentado o levemente reclinado en posición cómoda, pues los tratamientos tardan varios minutos.

    LIMPIEZA Y DESINFECCIÓN El nebulizador y la boquilla deberán limpiarse muy bien después de cada uso, a menos que su profesional del cuidado de la salud especifique un régimen de limpieza diferente; podrán requerirse precauciones de higiene adicionales para el uso con pacientes de alto riesgo. Nunca intente un tratamiento subsiguiente con medicación sin primero limpiar su unidad y boquilla.
