B, October 2016 Introduction The PipeWIZARD Main Unit consists mainly of a TomoScan FOCUS LT Rackmount, a PipeWIZARD motor controller and drive unit (PWZ-MCDU), an interface panel, a network router, and an heat exchanger. All these components and their accessories are installed in a composite rackmount case providing shock and vibration protection.

    The front panel of the PipeWIZARD Main Unit contains the following elements: TEMP SENSOR This connector is used to monitor the temperature of the external sensor (Olympus P/N: U8902957). Temperature range is from –40 °C to +85 °C with an 11-bit resolution. UT/PA 1 and UT/PA 2 These Hypertronics-type connectors are composed of 160 pins, which give access to 128 channels.

These fuses are used to protect the PipeWIZARD Main Unit from an external power surge or from an internal short circuit. WARNING Use only 250 V slow-blow fuses of the identical rating that meet IEC 127 standards.

If the probes are not being used for inspection, the PipeWIZARD Main Unit should be turned off.     Troubleshooting Preventive Maintenance of the PipeWIZARD Main Unit As the PipeWIZARD Main Unit unit has no moving parts, it does not require preventive maintenance. Only a regular inspection of the unit is recommended to ensure that the PipeWIZARD Main Unit unit has adequate grounding. Thus, verify that the interface and back panels of the PipeWIZARD Main Unit are properly tightened.

    This section provides the procedure for the appropriate cleaning of the instrument. To clean the PipeWIZARD Main Unit Make sure that the PipeWIZARD Main Unit is turned off and that the power cord is disconnected. WARNING To prevent the risk of an electric shock, first disconnect the power cord from the power outlet, and then disconnect the power cord from the PipeWIZARD Main Unit.

    Maintenance of the Heat Exchanger Filter The PipeWIZARD Main Unit is equipped with one heat exchanger located on the back panel. A filter, located on the vent inlet, remove dust particles from the air drawn in by the fan. To allow sufficient airflow, the filter must be cleaned and changed periodically, according to your PipeWIZARD Main Unit utilization and the quality of ambient air.

    Tighten the screws securing the filter into place. Changing the Fuses of the PipeWIZARD Main Unit The fuses protect the unit from power overload. If the PipeWIZARD Main Unit does not turn on when properly supplied by an AC power source, verify the fuses located in the fuse holders on the interface panel.

    DMTA-20020-01EN [U8778619], Rev. B, October 2016 Make sure that the PipeWIZARD Main Unit is turned off and that the AC power cord is disconnected from the interface panel. Unscrew the fuse holder caps (see Figure 4-3 on page 31), and then remove the fuses.

Locate the 6 A circuit breaker, and then reset it by pressing the center button of the circuit breaker (see Figure 4-5 on page 33).
