    Read all these instructions before operating the charger and save this user manual for future reference. SIP recommends that the starter / charger should not be modified or used for any ap- plication other than that for which it was designed. If you are unsure of its relative applica- tions do not hesitate to contact us and we will be more than happy to advise you.

In the event of contact, flush the area with clean water and immediately consult a doctor. Lead-acid batteries store a large amount of energy.

Do not allow untrained persons to operate the starter /charger and do not oper- ate the machine without all covers etc.

    GUARANTEE Guarantee: These SIP starter / chargers are covered by a 24 month parts and labour warranty covering failure due to manufacturers defects. This does not cover failure due to misuse or oper- ating the charger outside the scope of this manual - any claims deemed to be outside the scope of the warranty may be subject to charges Including, but not limited to parts, labour and carriage costs.
  • Page 9 Connecting to the power supply: The SIP starter / charger 03584 DSC200B is fitted with a standard 230v ~ 13 amp type plug; the rest come without a plug fitted as they all need a supply above 13 amps to work correctly (see individual specifications).
  • Page 10 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION Cont... Warning: Never connect live or neutral wires to the earth terminal of the plug. Only fit an approved plug with the correct rated fuse. If in doubt consult a qualified electrician. Note: Always make sure the mains supply is of the correct voltage and amperage and the correct fuse protection is used.

Follow all safety instructions & precautions for charging a battery. Wear eye / face protection and protective clothing.

Then perform steps 9 -11 again. If the engine turns over but does not start then the problem lies elsewhere - do not continue to attempt to crank using the starter / charger until the problem has been resolved.

Switch on the starter / charger. Press the test button until the “Alternator %” LED illuminates. Start the vehicle and turn on the vehicles headlights. If you get a reading of 0 - 100%, then the alternator is working ok.
