Microprocessor Protection Circuit:
This camera incorporates a safety circuit to protect its microprocessor against strong
extemal static electricity. In rare instances. the camera may fail to function because
this safety circuit has been triggered.

Should this happen, set the main switch to OFF, remove the battery pack, reload it
and press the reset button {R} inside the memory card door. Then turn the camera on
again.
@ Note that this operation will reset the date and time settings to their factory defaults

Test Photos and Warranties
Make it a practice to take test shots before taking pictures an important occasions, in order to confirm that
images are being recorded properly. Contax will not be held responsible for failure of photographs to be

recorded or transmitted to a computer as the result of any defects in recording media (memory card).

<Storing the Camera>
e Store the camera in a well-ventilated location, avoiding damp or dusty areas, drawers or
boxes containing mothballs, ar ın laboratories or other locations where chemicals are
handled. Exposure to such chemical fumes can result in damage to camera circuitry,
resulting in short circuits and causing the camera to emit smoke or catch fire.

e Do not place the camera in locations exposed to high temperatures for extended periods of time {the beach in
summer, a closed car under bright sun, etc.),
Such high temperatures may adversely affect or damage the camera, battery pack, or memory cards.
e Remove the battery pack before storing the camera for extended periods of time, to prevent battery leakage
and resulting damage.
<Display Panel and LCD Monitor>
e Strongly rubbing or pressing against the LCD monitor screen can cause damage ar other
malfunctions. Use a blower brush ta remove dirt or dust from the display panel or LCD
monitor. In the event of severe sailing, wipe gently with a soft cloth ar chamois.
e lí the LCD monitor breaks, take precautions to prevent personal injury from glass fragments.
e lf the LCD monitor breaks and its liquid contacts your skin, quickly wipe away any remaining
liquid and wash the skin with soap and water, If the liquid should enter the eyes, wash with
clean running water for at least 15 minutes, and then seek medical attention immediately
CAUTION
e Do not charge or the place battery pack near sources of high heat (near flames, heaters, or
in direct sunlight, etc.), or In places exposed to flammable gases, since it may generate heat,
emit smoke, or rupture,
e Do nat allow the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals of the battery pack to be short-
circuited by metallic wires or objects, since it may generate heat or emit smoke or flames
e. Do not store the battery pack together with keys, necklaces, coins or other metallic objects,
since the objects may contact the battery pack terminals and short-circuit them.
@ Do not try to heat the battery pack, or dispose of it in fire, since it may generate heat, emit
smoke or flame, or rupture
