Activate Priority Scan Push the PRI switch towards the back of the radio or select the PSCN key or the assigned button (BKR). Nuisance Delete a Scanned Channel If your radio has a key or button programmed for this function, when your radio stops on a scanned channel that you do not wish to monitor, press the DEL key or the assigned button to remove the channel from the scan list for that session only.

To activate or deactivate Priority Scanning, press the programmed key (PSCN) or assigned button to toggle Priority Scan ON or Off. Radio displays confirming message. Your Priority One (P ) channel is programmed to be your currently selected channel (known as “Use Main” in the menu) and P1 will move as you change your channel. This setting can be edited by the user (read below).

Zone Scanning Allows the users to build a radio-wide scan list of any conventional channels programmed into the radio. Enable ZONE SCAN then select ZONE SCAN EDIT within the Menu.

o If you chose Standard, you must add at least one channel to that zone or it won’t accept an incoming clone! o Now, go back to Keypad Prog and press ENT, highlight Keypad and press ENT, then highlight Channel and press ENT, then highlight Add Channel and press ENT.

CHANNEL ADD/DELETE (Chan Add/Del) – Allows user to build a COMMAND ZONE (usually the last zone in the radio) by adding channels from any other zone in the radio to build an incident-specific zone. Select desired channel(s) in the order you want them to appear, press MENU, then CHANNEL ADD/DELETE, select the COMMAND ZONE and then assign that channel to a position (1 or higher).

TX SECURE – If the radio is programmed for P25 Digital operations and has an encryption key assigned to the channel, the user may be able to choose Secure or Clear operations if the channel they are operating on is so programmed in the radio software. USER RX TONES –...

o You can select Priority 1 (P1) and P2 in either System or Zone modes. System means these channels will be your priority channels regardless of which zone you are operating on in the radio. This is highly discouraged on an incident unless the incident is has multiple zones in play.

TX POWER – Default is HIGH. Allows user to adjust output power on the radio to meet current needs. Higher power equals better distance over terrain. RADIO INFO – Displays radio name, network ID (P25 only), etc. VERSION – Displays current software and firmware versions on the radio, manufacture date, etc.
