If a discharge line is used, do not use a reducing coupling or other restriction smaller than the outlet of the pressure relief valve. Allow both the valve and the line to completely drain. This water heater is equipped with a pressure relief valve that complies with the standard for Relief Valves and Automatic Gas Shutoff Devices for Hot Water Systems, ANSI Z21.22/CSA 4.4.

Verify proper operation after servicing. MAINTENANCE We recommend that the water heater be inspected monthly by the user and at least once a year by service technician. Before an inspection, make sure that the Electrical Power, LP Gas and Water systems are turned on. Purge air out of ALL hot and cold water lines.
