HARDENED GROUND
(STARTENT NORMAL I BIG - SINGLE POLE)
Weights for each anchorage point - 200 kg
We recommend weights only for tents with one pole.
1.
Choose a flat even spot where you want to pitch the tent.
Make sure the spot is big enough to do it (check the dimensions given
in a Fig.1).
2.
Open the bag with your tent. Prepare the measuring tool and weights
3. If you want to pitch a tent on a hardened ground, such as pavement,
asphalt or concrete, you will need weights. Weights are not part of the
equipment and must be bought separately. Mind that attaching a tent
to the ground with weights is not as reliable as attaching it with anchors.
This is why, for safety reasons, a tent ballasted with weights should
be supervised all the time.
4. Due to the necessity of attaching the tent to weights, you need 3 people
to assemble the tent on hardened ground. Mark the central point of the
pole using a piece of chalk. The first person's task is to hold the spike with
a measuring tool in the central point all the time during measuring.
5. Mark the 8 points one by one following the rules from points 7-12.
Instead of driving anchors into the ground, mark every anchorage point
with chalk.
6. Put the weights near the defined anchorage points. The ring at the tape
fastened to each weight must be exactly in a previously marked anchoring
point (Fig. 18). In case of using water weights (200l) fill them with water
after putting them in order shown in step 5.
7. Position the pole at a central point.
8. Unfold the pole feet (Fig. 7). Secure the feet against folding with
the knobs (Fig. 8).
9. Set up the tent according to points 15-19.
10. Fasten the corners of the canopy to the water weights with carabiners.
11. Set up the tent according to points 21-22.
