TABLE 1 - INTERFACE PIN ASSIGNMENT
JUMPER OPTIONS:
ND3521/3561 jumper options are selected by mounting shorting dugs on the connectors
found on the drive's PCB (see Figure 1).
JUMPERS AND CABLES:
If your floppy drive ribbon cable has a split and is twisted between the A & B connector, the
Drive Select Switch, located at the back of the drive (see Figure 1) should always be set to
DS1. The drive may have been shipped with the Drive Select Switch set to DS0, consult the
switch and jumper diagrams in Figure 1 and reset it before installing your drive.
NOTE:
Systems that have a drive ribbon cable with a split and twist between the drive connectors
will use the DS1 position for either the A or B drive.
PIN THIRTY-FOUR;--
Pin 34 on the floppy disk drive interface, is the main item that may change from one type of
system to the next Most XT style systems do not use Pin 34. In AT systems, using 1,2mb
style controllers, Pin 34 is used as a DISK CHANGE line, in most instances. Use DISK
CHANGE ifyou keep getting the same directory, no matterwhat diskette is installed. In some
systems, Pin 34 is used as a READY line.
IMPORTANT NOTE: For a more complete description of the drive interface, see your
computer's technical or hardware reference manual.
