Revised: January 3, 2008, 78-17795-02 Introduction The Cisco TelePresence 3000 Assembly Guide outlines the steps and best practices for assembling and installing the Cisco TelePresence 3000. This guide is intended primarily for installers of the Cisco TelePresence 3000. Site planners, network administrators, and facility maintenance personnel may also find this document useful.
For information on obtaining documentation, obtaining support, providing documentation feedback, security guidelines, and also recommended aliases and general Cisco documents, see the monthly What’s New in Cisco Product Documentation, which also lists all new and revised Cisco technical documentation, at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/general/whatsnew/whatsnew.html...
Revised: January 3, 2008, 78-17795-02 Introduction The Cisco TelePresence System 3000 is designed to provide remote conferees the look and feel of person-to-person communication in an office environment. To accomplish this, the Cisco TelePresence System 3000 uses three large, high-definition monitor that produces a life-size image, strategically placed speakers and microphones, three high resolution video cameras, backlighting elements, and three codecs to manage call elements.
View of the Assembled Cisco TelePresence System 3000 System Quick Assembly Process This section provides a quick assembly process for technician familiar with building Cisco TelePresence System 3000 systems. The rest of this document provide detailed assembly instructions. Register codec and Cisco IP phone with Cisco Unified Conference Manager.
Cable Connection Labeling System Preparing for a Successful Installation The Cisco TelePresence System 3000 requires substantial assembly involving a large number of parts and a degree of finesse. This section discusses preparatory things that you can do to ensure a smooth and successful installation.
Some Cisco TelePresence System 3000 components are quite large and heavy. Use appropriate Warning equipment and technique to lift and move equipment. Tools and Equipment List To assemble the Cisco TelePresence 3000 system, we recommend that you have the following tools and equipment: Unpacking Claw hammer or small pry bar •...
Registering these devices on Cisco Unified Conference Manager is beyond the scope of this document. You can find information about how to register the codec and Cisco IP phone in Cisco Unified Conference Manager for Cisco TelePresence in the following document: Cisco Unified Communications Manager Installation Guide for The Cisco TelePresence System.

Cisco Unified Conference Manager and other network devices. When the 150 option is enabled in Cisco Unified Conference Manager, DHCP can be used to assign an IP address to the codec. You can also assign a static IP address to the codec. This section describes how to manually configure the codec with an IP address.
Use the keypad to enter the IP address of the primary CUCM TFTP server that you want the Step 5 Cisco TelePresence system to use. Repeat Step 4 and Step 5 for each CUCM server in the cluster that the Cisco TelePresence system will Step 6 use.

Building the Display Frame Revised: January 3, 2008, 78-17795-02 The Cisco TelePresence System 3000 display frame is a free-standing unit consisting of three subframes connected by support bars. The display frame is the backbone on which the plasma displays, cameras, lighting apparatus, and codecs are hung.
Positioning the Display Frame You must position the Cisco TelePresence System 3000 display frame in the room with the camera and lighting fixture in mind. To ensure the best results, the camera must be situated in the optical center of the room.
Attach a leveling foot to each of the four foot stabilizers as shown in Figure 2-1. You can use a #6 Allen wrench to adjust the height of the leveling feet. A #6 Allen wrench is Note included in the assembly kit. Cisco TelePresence 3000 78-17795-02...

This chapter describes how to assemble the table behind which the local conference participants will sit. The table assembly consist of five sections and connects with frame assembly to make the Cisco TelePresence System 3000 a continuous piece. The integration of the two assemblies help to ensure the proper look and feel in a conference.
Table legs are unstable until they are fully attached to the tabletop. Do not use unattached table legs as tabletop supports while you attach tabletop segments. They can fall and cause injury or damage. Cisco suggests you use the accessory cabinets to support and stabilize the table segments as you install them.

Laptop computer • Prerequisites This section lists things that must be done before you can begin set up of the Cisco TelePresence system. Configure Cisco Unified Conference Manager (CUSM) to use Cisco TelePresence. • Register MAC address of the codec with the CUCM that the Cisco TelePresence system will use.
Registering the Codec and Cisco IP Phone You must register the codec and Cisco IP phone with Cisco Unified Conference Manager (CUCM). You can register these components before or while you are assembling the CT to save time. Registering these devices on Cisco Unified Conference Manager is beyond the scope of this document.
The primary code provides call management functionality for the Cisco TelePresence System 3000 and serves as the network interface with the Cisco Unified Conference Manager. The primary codec must be configured with address information that it can use to communicate over the network and with the Cisco Unified Conference Managers with which you want it to support.
